The Church in HD: Biblical Images of the Church
Christians believe the church is the hope of the world. Yet while many people today are interested in spiritual things, they are not interested in the church. Therefore, the church is undergoing a radical transformation in form, or at least recovereing an ancient form, in order to interest people in today’s world.
“The Church in HD” invites us to examine biblical images of the Church, in order to recover a clearer picture of the church. Over eight weeks, we are examining the church as “the people of God,” “the body of Christ,” and the “temple of the Holy Spirit” and on Palm Sunday and Easter “the chief cornerstone” of the church,” namely Jesus Christ. In this series, we hope to move beyond notions of the church as people striving to be better behaved, and recover a biblical notion of people who have truly good news. We hope you will join us for this series.

Crossroads: Moving from (Mere) Belief to Following Jesus
Today, lots of people believe in Jesus, but few are willing to follow him. The mistake many make is to confuse believing “in” Jesus with believing things “about” Jesus. But this kind of belief does not necessarily take the teachings of Jesus seriously. One can conceivably believe that Jesus is the Son of God and yet still live self-centered lives. All of this believing, loving, worshiping and accepting Jesus is largely an internal experience, but following Jesus means engagement with the outside world in a tangible way. Following Jesus is about listening and doing. It is about putting into practice the things that Jesus taught.
